Recent Development

On April 12, 2021 SAFR from RealNetworks announced that its SAFR live video facial recognition technology is now aligned with GeutebrĂĽck’s G-Core VMS (Video Management System). For GeutebrĂĽck SAFR is an AI layer that operates on top of the G-Core VMS and offers automated video analytics to help monitoring operations save time and money. Live video overlays that show event information, seamless enrollment of entities appearing on the GeutebrĂĽck VMS directly into the SAFR identification database, and custom alerts and reminders that alert security staff of SAFR activities directly inside the VMS are only a few of the capabilities of this best-in-class integration.

For too many cameras mounted, security personnel would be unable to efficiently track them. SAFR compares faces in live video streams of photos on watch lists more accurately (99.87 percent) and with less discrimination than humans. This allows security officials to prioritize feeds that need to be reviewed while still supplying them with the critical details they need to respond to persons of interest faster. SAFR may also identify people wearing masks with exceptional precision (98.85 percent). The face identified in the VMS video is shown alongside the enrolled or reference image. To validate match activities, operators have instant access to the enrolled person’s face profile.

Official Remarks

About this recent development in RNWK, Brad Donaldson, VP, Computer Vision & GM, SAFR said that Manual control is both costly and ineffective. AI will detect people of concern in real-time, and former criminals can be identified as soon as they return and before they trigger new accidents. Industry-leading integrations, such as the one with GeutebrĂĽck, are possible thanks due to their strong API and plugin architecture.
