Partnership with SK Innovation – What’s going on?

Solid Power in process of merging with DCRC announced on 27th October 2021 that they are doing a partnership with SK Innovation. The agreement is meant to produce automotive-scale all-solid-state batteries. Moreover, SK Innovation will be able to build automotive-scale all-solid-state battery packs using Solid Power’s sulfide-based solid electrolyte, patented cell designs, and manufacturing techniques.

Furthermore, the partnership aims to make it easier for Solid Power to validate its all-solid-state cell research and manufacturing procedures as part of the industry-standard automobile qualifying process. Lastly, this is a significant step forward in Solid Power’s strategic plan to commercialize all-solid-state battery cells for electric vehicle installation and use.
